Alphonse, 68, SR 274, Chickasaw, died at 9:30 a.m. at Mercer County Community Hospital, where he had been transported a short time earlier after suffering a heart attack.

He was the son of Casper and Anna (Ashman) Clune. On Nov 10, 1936, he married Agnes Prenger, who survived him.

Also surviving were six sons, Dr. Lavern, Huntsville, Al, Arnold, Minster, John, New Bremen, Richard, St. Henry, Edgar, Chickasaw, and Randy, at home; four daughters, Julianna (Charles) Pax, Gaithersburg, MD, Janice (LeRoy) Piekenbrock, St. Rose, Kay (Roger) Hoying, Egypt, and Deborah (Charles) Riethman, Chickasaw; a brother, Luke, Chickasaw; three sisters, Lucille (Urban) Dwenger, Osgood, Mary Agnes (Urban) Nerderman, Carthagena, and Ester (Henry) Dietz, Chickasaw; a half sister, Philomena Gerlach, Montezuma; and thirty-three grandchildren.

Deceased are a daughter, Mary Ann; a grandchild; three brothers; two sisters; two half-brothers; and a half sister.

He was a retired farmer and a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church, Chickasaw, the Holy Name Society of the church and the Maria Stein Knights of St. John.

Services were held at the church, with the Rev. Cletus Stang, officiating.
