Son of William Davies b: abt 1796 in N. Wales and Ermyn (Jones) Davies b: in Eylwysfach, M. Wales.

William and Anne came to the US in the spring of 1855 on the ship Chimborazo. Upon arriving they crossed the plains to Utah settling in Williard (about 50 miles from Salt Lake City). William added the middle initial of W. after he arrived at Russell Creek, WA about 1867.

William was a Morrisette (a sect of the Mormon religion), camped near South Weaver. After the founder, Joseph Morris was killed, William fled with his family and followers. (See Morrisette History) They went first to Soda Springs, Idaho, then to Deer Lodge, Montana, and finally arrived in Walla Walla, WA in 1867 by way of the Mullen Road/Mormon Road. They lived in or near Walla Walla, WA until 1887/88. William and 2nd family moved to CA about 1887/88.

"William W. Davies, Leader of the Kingdom of Heaven Mormon Sect
East of Walla Walla, a rough road named the Mormon Grade and a remote cemetery are all that is left of a Mormon splinter group known as the Kingdom of Heaven, which lasted from 1867 to 1881. The group was led by William W. Davies. Although raised as a Methodist, Davies converted to Mormonism, and in 1854, he moved to Utah Territory to join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which was establishing a community there. By 1857, he had shifted his allegiance to Joseph Morris, who led a Mormon faction known as the Morrisettes. In 1862, Morris was killed in a skirmish with the Utah territorial militia, dubbed the ''Morrisette War.'' After Morris's death, bands of his followers scattered, with some, including Davies, fleeing to Deer Lodge, Montana. There, Davies had a number of revelations telling him that he should establish the Kingdom of Heaven in Walla Walla. He and 40 followers moved to an 80-acre commune just east of town. Davies, who believed in reincarnation, told his followers that he was the archangel Michael and that he had previously lived as Adam, Abraham, and David. When his son Arthur was born in 1868, he informed them the child was the reincarnation of Jesus Christ. The child dubbed the ''Walla Walla Jesus," attracted more followers, doubling the size of the community. A year later, Davies asserted that his second son was God the Father. Disillusionment had set in by 1880 when both of his sons died of diphtheria. The remaining 43 members of the community sued Davies, who was forced to sell the property. Davies died November 25, 1906, and is buried in a hilltop cemetery that overlooks his former ''kingdom." (From Frank T. Gilbert's, Historic Sketches of Walla Walla, Whitman, Columbia, and Garfield Counties, Washington Territory, and Umatilla County, Oregon, 1882.)"
