He was a physician on the Chisholm Trail. Census says birth year ws 1817, but tombstone says 1816.

He had three wives:

Elizabeth Ann Gotcher, who so far I have not been able to find out much about. They did have a son, half brother to Virginia's children, and I think the son's name was Robert Benjamin Masterson, Sr. He became a cattle baron in West Texas. There may have been other children.

Then Virginia B. Clark, my second great grandmother,

Then Flora Ann Owen, who was affectionately called Aunt Po Po, by her step-children and some others. Flora was one daughter of Dr. William Owen in Round Rock, Texas, who was both the employer and the father-in-law of Robert Masterson.

There is a strong possibility that his middle initial was M. I hesitate to enter it on his name, because I'm not sure, and I don't want to throw off searches. Even is M was correct, I do not know what it stood for.
