Eastern Star conducted a brief service at the grave. She was
born 9/16/1885 at Augusta, GA and moved to Texas with her
parents when she was quite young. Joined the Methodist Church in Rockdale at about 7 years old. Before beginning her life work as a milliner, she taught school a few years and made friends of a great number of people. Moved to Thorndale with parents, M/M J.W. Beesley, about "5 years ago" (1919) developing a magnificent trade and a host of loyal friends. She was taken to Taylor on Monday 12/01/1924, suffering from an attack of appendicitis and other complications. Underwent an operation on the following Friday and seemed to be improving until Sunday before her death when it became difficult for her to take nourishment and retain it. It is thought the strain of vomiting developed locked bowels and another operation was decided upon. That operation was performed Thursday afternoon and word was received Thursday night that she was dead. She was known as "Miss Sallie" in the Thorndale Comm. and surrounding country districts. Preceded in death by her father. Survivors: Mother, 3 brothers, Alex of Dallas, Tom of Beaumont and Wesley Beesley of Oakland.
