1900 & 1910 Census shows George. wife Hanna & family living in Atchinson, Kansas.
They were back in Indiana, perhaps visiting, when Hanna suffered a stroke and died in 1919.
The stone erected in Maple Grove Cemetery includes George but has no death date, so this supports the fact that he was buried elsewhere.
1930 census shows a George Dowse living on a farm "institution" in Iowa.
1940 census, shows a George Dowse as an "inmate" at the County Poor Farm in Olathe, Kansas.
