William H. "Bill" Lambert, 76 of Muskogee, Oklahoma, died Sunday, October 27, 2002 at Muskogee Regional Medical Center.
He was born February 16, 1926 to Cora Pauline Lambert and Walter M. Lambert in Van Buren, Arkansas.

He grew up in Fort Smith and graduated from Springfield High School in Missouri. He was educated at Drury College and the University of Arkansas where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps. He married Octavia McDaniel, February 17, 1951, in Tyroma. They moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma in 1953 while he worked for John F. Beasley Construction Company as an engineer. He was later vice president for National Steel Erectors until 1977 when he founded Wilolamb International Corporation.
His work took him around the world and all 50 states. His major accomplishments included erecting the heaviest tall tower in the world and the tallest towers in the southern hemisphere. He also re-built the Royal Gorge Bridge in Canyon City, Colorado.

He was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church for almost 50 years. He was chairman of the board of trustees a the time of his death. He was chairman of the Muskogee County Flood Plain Committee.
He was a 32nd degree Mason and active in the Shrine and DeMolay. He was a member of the Royal Order of Jesters. He was Potentate of Bedouin Shrine Temple in 1979. He served as president of the National Shrine Treasurer Association of North America.

He was survived by his wife, Octavia of 51 years; a daughter, Lisa A. Hostetler and husband,Lynn of Bentonville; three sons, Walter L. and wife, Laura, Dr. Gary W. and wife, Lynette and Scott E. and wife, Janet, all of Muskogee, Ok.; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Walter M. Lambert of Tulsa; one uncle Robert Bruns of Van Buren and one Aunt, Caroline Allen of Van Buren.

Funeral service was held in Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Warren Danskin officating. Interment followed at Memorial Park Cemetery in Muskogee.
