Essie Marie Farrell Allensworth Smith, 95 of Pittsfield and formerly of Barry passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Liberty Village in Pittsfield. Essie was born on December 26, 1919 in Griggsville, IL a daughter of Mike and Frances Higden Farrell. Her first marriage was to George Allensworth and later to Guy Smith. Both preceded her in death.

In earlier years Essie worked and retired from Brown Shoe Company. She had lived in Barry for many years on a farm. She was a member of the Barry Nazarene Church where she served as Sunday school superintendant and Sunday school teacher and then became a member of the Pittsfield Church of the Nazarene.

Essie is survived by one son, Paul Roger (wife, Julie) Allensworth of Pittsfield; grandson, Daniel (wife, Angie) Allensworth and two great grandsons, Nicholas and Tyler Allensworth of Sheboygan, WI.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, George, Jim, Harry and John Farrell; three sisters, Elizabeth DeSpain, Mickey Daniels and Mary Benson.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2015 at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with Rev. Jon Kroeze officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday evening, May 7, 2015 at the Niebur Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Griggsville Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to be made to the Pittsfield Church of the Nazarene. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.nieburfh.com. The Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield has been entrusted with the service.
