AUSTINTOWN- Funeral services will be held Friday at noon at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Donald P. Habeger of 609 Carlin Drive who died Tuesday evening at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Donald was born on June 14, 1930 in Youngstown the son of Fred and Mildred (Lenhart) Habeger. He served in the Ohio National Guard and retired after 47 years of service as a machinist for YSD Industries. Don attended Highway Tabernacle Church and was an avid gardener and a master craftsman in many trades including electrical, carpentry, plumbing and machinery. His knowledge of engines and his ability to repair anything he encountered benefited numerous family members and friends. He is survived by his loving wife Joan (Doepping) who he married on February 18, 1967 and 3 children Lori (Frank) Moorhead of Hartville, Ohio, Millie Vodhanel and Brad Habeger both of Austintown. Mr. Habeger also leaves 2 sisters Marilyn Layman of Canfield and Elaine Stark of Poway, California. He is also survived by 3 brothers William Habeger of Apache Junction, Arizona and Richard and James Habeger both of Austintown along with 3 grandchildren Joshua and Stacey Moorhead and Daniel Vodhanel. He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Nancy Habeger, a brother Frederick Habeger and a nephew Daniel Layman.
