Mr J A Philmon Has Departed This Life
Mr Julius A Philmon died at his home in Panhandle Thursday Nov 17th. Funeral services by his pasor, Rev S W Brown, and interment at Crowell. At the grave the Farmers' Union, of which Mr Pilmon was a leading member, assisted in the burial service.
He was a true Christian and often before his death announced his readiness and willingness to go. He was sick about six weeks from an abscess of the brain.
Mr Philmon was 51 years old and besides a devoted wife he leaves two daughters and two sons. We can only remind these mourners that he is not dead, he is only asleep - resting after a long and well spent life here.
It was the writer's good fortune to have known him long and well, we only knew him to esteem him more highly as the years passed by. Death so often takes from us our brightest and best, but it cannot mar memory. It will serve as a balm to our wounded hearts.
