Obituary: WILSON – Dorothy Claire (Smith), 95, of Mundys Corner, passed away March 13, 2016. Owner of the former Wilson Electric Pumps of Mundys Corner, with her late husband, Herbert A. “Herb” Wilson, Sr. She was born Dec. 23, 1920 in Bolivar, daughter of the late Paul and Corrine CORINNE (Johnston) Smith. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by daughter, Marjorie (Edward) Panaro; granddaughter, Beth Ann Decker; and brothers, Paul and Edward EDGAR Smith. Survived by children. Herbert (Linda) Wilson, Jr.; Clair (Marcia) Wilson; Frances (Daniel) Decker; and James (Deborah) Wilson. 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Mundys Corner. Graduate of Indiana University in 1942, and later earned her Masters Degree in Music. Dorothy Claire has performed for 85 years since age 8. Her passion for music and the piano included writing dozens of original songs, including one for St Jude's Children's Hospital. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo and from 10:30 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11a.m. on Friday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Pastor Kevin McNamara, officiating. Interment, Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy’s memory may be made to The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, Western PA Chapter, 300 Penn Center Blvd., Pittsburgh, PA 15235; or online at www.ccfa.org.
