Delores Conklin, 82, Wausau, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 10, 2016, at Cady Home, Wausau, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

She was born April 25, 1933, in Mosinee, the daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Dziak) Koss.

Delores moved with her husband, Harry, to Milwaukee where they raised their two sons, Gary and Greg. After his death, she married Homer Conklin and moved to the north woods living in various locations, always on the water so that she could satisfy her passion for fishing. Many wonderful memories were built spending time with family on summer vacations in Minocqua and Canada.

Delores also enjoyed cooking, her pets, polka music and helping others. She was a hardworking, loving and kind-hearted person who despite personal trials and tribulations was always quick to come to the aide of others. When most people are starting to think about retirement, Delores went back to school to become a CNA. Her warm heart and sense of humor was experienced by many and will be missed.

Survivors, besides her sons, Gary Simanek, Minocqua, and Gregory Simanek, Cudahy, include a grandson, Aaron Simanek, Cudahy; a brother, David Koss Sr., Mosinee; a sister, Bernice (Wally) Szymanski, Mosinee; and many nieces and nephews including her God-daughter, Janet Koss. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harry Simanek and Homer Conklin, and her step-mother, Helen.

Graveside service will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2016, at St. Paul Cemetery, Mosinee. The Rev. Donald Przybylski will officiate.
