Mary A. McKinley, 98, formerly of Delphi, died at 10:45 a.m. July 29, 1995, in St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center, Delphi. She had lived there the past seven years.

Born Dec. 7,1896, in Corydon, she was the daughter of Henry D. and Sallie McKinster Wiseman. Her marriage was on June 17, 1919, in Corydon, to Clarence D. McKinley, who died Sept 7,1967.

She and her husband moved from Hardinsburg to Delphi in 1938 and were among the founders of Union Bank and Trust, now NBD. She was a member of Delphi United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Carroll Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and Carroll County Country Club. She had been active in the former Delphi Women’s Club and at one time was very active in the former Women's Society of Christian Service and other civic and social organizations.

Surviving are three daughters, Sarah Lewis of Rockford, Ill., Betty Gripe of Rt. 4, Delphi, and Ruth Ann Braune of Springboro, Ohio; a son, James D. McKinley of West Terre Haute; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services were Tuesday at Horn Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Ellcessor and Father Michael McKinley officiating. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery, Delphi.

Memorials may be made to the Delphi Public Library or Delphi United Methodist Church.
