Samuel David Barefoot, 87, of Charlotte, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Levine and Dickson Hospice House of Huntersville with family by his side. He was born May 8, 1928 to the late Jocie and Florence Barefoot in Charlotte. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his loving wife of 30 years, Mary Ann Ferguson Barefoot and four brothers.
David proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He enjoyed boating, fishing, football, NASCAR and spending time with his family and friends. He was the owner operator of Armstrong Auto Parts, Charlotte, for 38 years. David was a graduate of Harding High School. He went on to attain a business degree.
Those left to cherish David’s memory include loving daughter, Shannon Emory (Lee); brother, R. Wayne Barefoot (Millie); grandson, Tyler Emory; granddaughter, McKayla Emory; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Hankins & Whittington Chapel. Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 5-7:00 PM, Saturday, March 12th at the funeral home.
