Barbara Ann Roberds, 75, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.
Barbara was born on September 24, 1940 to Mike and Ulela (Wolfe) Dworaczyk. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1959. Barbara worked at Handy-Andy when in High School and started at Wolf & Marx when North Star Mall was built. She met Scotty in 1961 and they married on June 2, 1962. She quit working to be a full time Mom. Together they had 2 sons: Dan, born in 1963 and Jason, born in 1976. The family lived in a duplex on French Street from 1962-1964. In Febuary 1964, they purchased their first home for $16,450, $800 down payment and $128 monthly. Scotty also worked for Wolf & Marx and quit in 1961 and went to work for Montgomery Ward until he retired in 1995 after driving a truck for them for 34 years. Barbara retired from North East Independent School District Jackson Keller Elementary after 18 years of service.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years: Scotty Roberds; 2 sons: Dan Thomas Roberds and Jason McCall Roberds and 1 granddaughter: Bralyn McCall Roberds. Numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and step-dad: Barney B. Boswell and 1 sister: Angeline Dorothy Wilkinson.
