"This is Your Life" written by Elsie Gould:

Elsie Marie Hyatt was born Good Friday, April 21, 1916.
My brother Clay was 4 yrs. older. Three sister were born after me-Maurine, Thelma and Nadine.
Daddy was a dairy farmer in Adrian, Mo when I was a Sophomore in High School. I graduated from El Dorado Springs High School in 1934. My Mother introduced me to my future husband, Vivian Rathburn, her Raleigh saleman. Our first date he told me he was going to marry me.
After graduation I taught in a one room country school house.
I taught one year when Vivian and I became engaged. He designed and started building our house on the outskirts of Humansville, Mo. We married June 2, 1935. Three yrs. later Barbara was born. Oct. 30, 1941 Vivian age 30 passed away from Stomach Cancer. I was a widow at 25. In 1942 I went to work at Woolworth Dime Store. Barbara went to live with my Mother & Dad in El Dorado Spgs. then in 1943 I was a time keeper at the Lake City Ammunition Plant.
In Feb. 1945 I bought a 3 story house in KC, Mo. a half block off Linwood & Benton Blvd. I moved Barbara, Mother & Dad, Nadine, & Thelma & her infant daughter there with me.
My Dad age 56 suffered a massive stroke Dec. 16, 1945 & died that night.
After World War 11, I worked at the Buick Parts Dept. in KC, Kansas, Gersons Wholesale Jewelry & returned to Lake City during the Korean War.
I met Tommy Gould at Lake City & we were married in Feb 1959. We divorced 5 yrs later.
I moved back to KC & started working in the office for Gay Gibson Dress Mfg. I worked there 10 yrs. until they declared bankruptcy. Then I retired.
Barbara graduated from college in 1959 and worked for TWA.
Barbara married Dick Turner Sept 2, 1967.
Mother passed away July 17, 1979.
I became a Grandmother Feb. 5, 1970 & a Great grandmother March 29, 2000. Dick passed away May 13, 1997.
My legacy lives on in Barbara, Cherie & Garrett.
There have been good time & bad times but I am reminded "Into each life some rain must fall".

Elsie gave me this copy of her life as we were in Genealogy Research meeting together. Millie Rice
