This man's brother was Mathew Brown, FAG#24065032, who is buried in Rays Crossing, Shelby Co., Indiana...a Rev War soldier.
The Brown Family came from Ireland to Charleston, SC, then upstate towards mountains as only "elite" slave-owners lived in Charleston area.

Mathew Brown family moved from SC to Indiana shortly after it became a state, with a lot of his brethren and cousins. The Browns were from Wexford, Ireland per Mathew's pension interview.
