She was born Oct. 6, 1920, in Ford City to Fred W. and Catherine (Snee) Flanders.
She was a homemaker and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ford City. She enjoyed yard work and worked a number of years at the Ford City Senior Center. She also enjoyed shopping, her Bible study classed and her grandchildren. She and her husband used to enjoy going to the VFW in Kittanning for Saturday night dancing.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Anderson and husband Lyle, of Shelocta; two sons, Kenneth Anthony and wife Sherry, of Mount Holly Springs, and Jerald Anthony of Ford City; two sisters, Genevieve Shall of Ford City, and Betty Stivason of Ford Cliff; a brother, Edward Flanders and wife Janet, of Sarver; seven step children, Roy Forester and wife Sandy, of Carlisle, Kay Young and husband Danny, of Sarasota, Fla., Tom Forester and wife Vickie, of Ford City, Carol McConnell and husband Larry, of Leechburg, Patty Cornick and husband Bob, of Rochester, N.Y., William Forester and wife Linda, of Kittanning, and Richard Forester and wife Marie, of Rochester, N.Y.; 23 grandchildren; and a number of great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Harry Anthony, who died in 1965; her second husband, Roy Forester, who died February 1989; a daughter, Kathy Erdley, who died Jan. 11, 1992; a brother, Fred Flanders, who died March 2, 1994; and a sister, Mildred Vojtilla.
Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Welch Funeral Home, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City. Additional visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church, Ford City, where services will be held at 10 a.m. with the Rev. James R. Vincent officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Burial.
