Patrick Murphy is a relative of my father's family. A family researcher suggests the information on this marker is incorrect for both birth and death. The Albion Agrus newspaper of August 25, 1904 says "Patrick Murphy passed away at the home of his daughter (Amilianna "Ada" Browner) in Payette, Idaho about two weeks ago (8/7/1904)." Patrick's own statements on various official documents indicate a birth year no earlier than 1823. He was married to Louisa C. Thompson (b. 5/17/1838 near Tazewell Co Court House, Tazewell, VA-d. 9/19/1902 @ Bonanza, near Albion, Nebraska), daughter of George P. Thompson, in Dane Co. WI on 9/16/1856. Eight of Patrick and Louisa's 11 children died--probably of diphtheria. His wife and daughter Annie are buried @ St. Michael's Catholic Ch. in Albion, NE. Louesa Murphy: Grave Memorial# 71140765 Annie Murphy Grave Memorial# 57350335.
