Birdie E. Stanturf, 86, of Kansas City, KS, was pronounced deceased Saturday, May 5, 2001, after missing since April 20th. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 10, at the Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, KS; burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The family requests memorial contributions to Cancer Action, Inc. Birdie was born March 6, 1915, in Geary, OK, and had lived most of her life in Kansas City, KS. Birdie was a secretary with the Stuart Hall Company when she retired, and had previously been employed with Kresge's, the High Quality Card Company, and Medical Depot. She was a member and Past President of the Wyandotte Chapter #1477, AARP, the Gas Retiree's Club, and Bethel Neighborhood Center, and Bethany 55 Club. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Smithville Restoration Branch, and a former member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Grandview Branch. Her husband, P. Leroy Stanturf, preceded her in death in 1994. Survivors include her son, Robert L. Stanturf, Sr. and his wife, Nancy of Smithville, MO, daughter, Marcia Reser, and her husband, Lonnie, Smithville, MO, four grandchildren, Linda Kay Kanatzar, Robert L. Stanturf, Jr., Brian Reser, and Tonya Layman, five great-grandsons, Sam, Chris, Joel and Cooper Stanturf, and Chad Kanatzar, The family wishes to thank you for your prayers and kind wishes at this sad loss of our loved one.
