Donald Norman Acquard, 78, of Decatur, died Thursday, March 3, 2016, at Rhea Medical Center.
He was of the Catholic faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lillian (George) Acquard; and one brother, Richard Acquard.
He was past president of Bennington Fire Department, Sergeant-at-Arms and Associate Member of Big Cork Screw Island Fire and Rescue (BCIFR), and a member of Attica Rod and Gun Club.
Survivors include his wife, Karen (Kell) Acquard of Decatur; four sons, Donald Acquard Jr. and Keith Acquard, both of Alden, N.Y., Kevin Acquard of Cowlesville, N.Y., and Timothy Acquard of Corfu, N.Y.; stepson, Jim and Lynda Stankowitz of Kansas City, Mo.; three brothers, Robert and Lori Acquard of Clarence Center, N.Y., Joseph and Beverly Acquard of Bennington, N.Y., and Russell and Jan Acquard of Ocala, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at noon on Thursday, March 10, at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church with Pastor Rodney Dunn officiating.
Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
