Corinne Benedetta Bucchianeri Pelfini

Passed away peacefully in the presence of her family at her residence in Greenbrae, CA on Monday evening, February 29, 2016. She was 88 years old.

The first of two children born to Nicodemo and Irene and raised in San Francisco, Corinne graduated from Lowell High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Berkeley. Corinne then spent a year teaching at St. Vincent de Paul School in San Francisco before marrying the love of her life, James Pelfini, DDS on January 8, 1950. She was a fully engaged and loving mother to her five children who were born over a span of 12 years.

Corinne touched many people's lives in a profoundly positive way. Following the passing of their second daughter, Theresa Marie ("Cookie") at age 8, Corinne was actively involved for many years as a volunteer working with children with special needs. She was also an active parishioner at the Church of St. Raphael as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, and as an instructor in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults program. She was beloved by the community in which she lived and was an active participant at The Tamalpais in Greenbrae, CA, her residence since 1997.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Jim (1994); her daughter, Cookie (1965); and her brother, Dario (1998).

She is survived by four children. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, great-granddaughter.
