Denzel Dean Salathiel went home to be with his Lord on March 5, 2016 at the age of 63. He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris, and his father, Merl Lindsay, a well-known singer and band leader of Western Swing music. Denzel was an elementary teacher in Oklahoma City Schools for over 34 years. He is survived by his sister Merlynn Salathiel Nelson and a large group of relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at Metropolitan Baptist Church, 7201 West Britton Rd. in Oklahoma City on March 24, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MBC Building Fund or the library.
