Abram Bowser (aka Abraham), a stone mason, was born 1802 in Armstrong county, Pennsylvania the son of Valentine & Elizabeth Fluke. Mr. Bowser was married about 1822 to the former Miss Mary Ann Stevens, the daughter of hotel owners Benjamin and Sarah Ann Stevens of Beaver Falls, Beaver county, Pennsylvania. Abram resided on a farm four miles west of Kittanning and was killed in 1852 by the fall of a tree. He was survived by the following 13 children; Benjamin Stevens Bowser, born December 20, 1823, died October 11, 1915, Elizabeth F. Bowser, norn Dec 8, 1925, died November 27, 1908, Sophia Bowser, born May 29, 1828, died November 16, 1923, Sarah Ann Bowser, born October 17, 1830, died March 2, 1916, Delilah Bowser, born November 27, 1832, died March 15, 1873, Eli Bowser, born 1835, Mathias Stevens Bowser, born May 14, 1837, died December 22, 1922, Rosannah H. Bowser, born April 4, 1840, died August 18, 1880, Jane Bowser, born April 15, 1842, died July 1892, Joshua Crawford Bowser, born August 24, 1846, died 1870, Nancy Bowser, died in infancy, Susan Bowser, died in infancy, James Hindman Bowser, born June 7, 1852, died February 9, 1932. In 1922 the heirs of his grandson William P. Bowser, son of Benjamin Stevens Bowser owned and operated the family he Abram Bowser once owned.
