Violet Moore Broughton Binder, age 85 of London, KY, passed away on Saturday, March 5 at her residence, with family by her side. She was born on December 6, 1930 in Laurel County; the daughter of Edd & Lelia Moore, who preceded her in death.
She leaves behind three children, Mike Broughton and wife Brenda of London, KY, Chuck Broughton and wife Suann of Owensboro, KY and Karen Broughton Ramsey of London, KY; seven grandchildren, Charley Broughton, Michael Broughton, Beth McDaniel, Shelli Young, Angela Smith, Dean Ramsey III and Kara Baker; fourteen great-grandchildren, Peyton, Grant and Gracie Broughton, Madison, Macie, Marlie and Mabrie McDaniel, Kaylie Grimes, Addison Baker, Aurora Ramsey, Tucker Smith, Chaz, Calli and Carter Young, plus a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper Broughton (October 6, 1988) and Eddie C. Binder (October 20, 2006); one son, James Donald Broughton; two brothers, Ken and Bud Moore; one sister, Betty June Wyatt, and one great-grandchild, Uriah Ramsey. Violet was a devoted Christian woman who diligently displayed the love of Christ in her life while instilling these values within her family. Violet’s home church was First Pentecostal Church of London, KY. She was also a supporter of the Pittsburg Homecoming for many years.
Funeral services for Violet Moore Broughton Binder will be conducted on Wednesday, March 9 at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Vernon Jarvis and Clayton Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Pittsburg Cemetery.
