Thomas Arnold Anderson, 89, of Batavia passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at his home. He was born December 13, 1926, on a farm in rural Batavia the son of Arnold and Bessie (Thomas) Anderson. Tom worked as a union carpenter in the Fox Valley area for many years specializing in floor covering and tile. Tom serviced in the United States Navy, working as a military police officer. Tom was a member of the Batavia Masonic Lodge for many years. He was a longtime Batavia High School Basketball Fan and attended most every home game. He is survived by his son, Richard Anderson of Concho, AZ; two grandchildren, Holly (Steve) Kammes of Batavia and Chad (Emily) Anderson of Ashville, NC; five great grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, and Nicholas Kammes, all of Batavia, and Evan and Ivy Anderson of Ashville, NC; and a sister, Evelyn Keller of Reno, NV. Visitation will be held 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Sunday, January 31, 2016, at Moss Family Funeral Home 209 South Batavia Ave. Batavia, IL. A celebration of Thomas life will begin at 5:00 P.M. followed by a Masonic service at the funeral home. A private graveside burial will be in Kaneville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Shriners Hospitals for Children 2900 Rocky Point Dr. Tampa, FL 33607.
