She grew up on the family farm in Tinney Grove, MO. She moved to Kansas City, Ks, in 1929. She worked as a seamstress for many years and also assisted her husband, Opa, in running a gas station from 1955-1965. Marguerite was 90, formerly of Kansas City, Ks, and died at Delmar Gardens of Lenexa, Kansas. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, at the Grandview Park Presbyterian Church, 1613 Wilson Blvd., Kansas City, Ks. She was preceded in death by her husband, Opa Barnett. She has a son, Gerald Barnett, whose wife is, Norma. They live in Overland Park, Ks. She also has a grandson, Brian Barnett, of Manhattan, Ks. and a grandson, Philip Barnett and wife, Jennifer, great-granddaughter, Hannah and great- grandson, Thomas, all of Wilmington, NC. She spent many years as a babysitter for the Wilson's in Kansas City, Kansas and will be terribly missed by their daughter, Roberta thought of her as a mother.
