Curtis Neil McLaughlin, 71, of Magnolia passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at the Northern Louisiana Medical Center in Ruston, LA.
He was a devoted husband and father who loved the Lord, his family, and his friends.
Curtis was born July 20, 1944, in McNeil. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church where he was a member of the Steadfast Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the Kiwanis Club and served in the Army Reserve. He was a 35-year retired employee of Alcoa/Alumax, Inc., and a 10-year employee of The Banner-News prior to that.
Curtis was preceded in death by his parents Loyd and Neva (Dodson) McLaughlin and brother Dwain McLaughlin. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Janice (Click) McLaughlin of Magnolia; daughter Lori McLaughlin of Magnolia; son Brandon McLaughlin and wife Melinda of Phoenix, AZ; sisters Marjie Blair and husband John of McNeil; Debbie Ross and husband Raymond of Canyon Country, CA; and several nephews, nieces, and loved ones.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2016, at the First Baptist Church with Bro. David Watkins officiating, assisted by Pastor Randy Click and Dr. Eric Goble. Burial will follow at the Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., of Magnolia. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Kelly Blair, Jay Click, Steve Ford, Brandon McLaughlin, Bill Merritt, James Souter, Ricky Talley and David Temple. Honorary pallbearers will be the Steadfast Sunday School Class.
The family requests that memorials are sent to First Baptist Church, 318 East Main St., Magnolia, AR 71753 or to Bethlehem Cemetery, 71 Columbia 261 East, Magnolia, AR 71753.
