Lois E. (Wakefield) Davis, 92, of Cranston, RI, widow of George L. Davis, died Monday (September 30, 2002) at the Charlesgate Nursing Center in Providence, RI. She was born in New Britain and had been employed at the former G. Fox Co. in Hartford.
She was the daughter of Fredrick G. and Jenny (Bishop) Wakefield. She is survived by six grandchildren, Joseph B. McKernan, Jr. of Pawcatuck, Janis L. McKernan-Markoff of Cranston, RI, Jeffrey B. McKernan of Bradford, RI, Jay B. McKernan of Groton, Jody L. Roby of New Mexico, and Jill LaPiana of Martha's Vineyard, MA; 12 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren; and a nephew, Fred Johnson of New Britain. She was predeceased by a daughter, Joyce McKernan; and a sister, Muriel Johnson.
A funeral service will be held Friday, Oct. 4, 1pm, at the Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm St., Rocky Hill. Burial in Rose Hill Memorial Park at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Published in The Hartford Courant on Oct. 2, 2002.
