(special thanks to Ernest G Wade #47916496 for the following info) William Asberry Alverson is son of Charles Asberry Alverson and Sarah F. Golden. He married Nancy Emily Pope Alverson and had a daughter Sarah born 1857. Private Alverson enlisted 20 January 1862 at Ashville, Alabama. He died at the Confederate Hill Hospital at Covington, Georgia of chronic diarrhea on 6 June 1864. His battles included Chicamaugua, Missionary Ridge, New Hope Church and Kennesaw Mountain.
