The remains of Samuel E. Newton
of Claremont, N. H., father of Mrs.
Traver G. Blaisdel, were brought
here for burial. Mr. Newton was
born in Ryegate 65 years ago, had
worked in the car shops here, in the
Fairbanks shops at St. Johnsbury
and the Sullivan machine shops at
Claremont. He married first,
Agnes C. Amadon at Maplewood, P.Q.,
who died in 1901. Three of their
children survive, George Newton of
West Lebanon. N. H.. Mrs. T. G.
Blaisdell of Lyndonville, Archibald
Newton of Denison, Texas. In 1906
he married Nancy J. Bugbee of
Claremont. Bright's disease caused
his death. Episcopal burial services
were held at his home in Claremont,
and Masonic services at the interment
in the Lyndon Center cemetery last Saturday.
