NELLIE MAE CAIN
Nellie Mae Cain, daughter of James L and Nancy Ann (Frakes) Johnson, was born September 10, 1913 in Saline, Missouri, and died October 15, 2000 at Ashton Court Care Center, in Liberty, Missouri, at the age of 87 years. As a child, Nellie grew up in the rural Saline community with her brothers and sisters. Nellie had two brothers, George W Johnson and Robert L Johnson, and three sisters, Ona Marie Waldron, Clarinda Waldron, and Alfred Lafolette. Nellie was married on January 11, 1930 to Fred A Cain, who preceded her in death in 1982. Nellie and Fred lived their married lives in Cainsville, Missouri where she worked for many years for the Cainsville R-I school district. Nellie moved in 1982 to Liberty, Missouri to be near her children and their families. Nellie and Fred had five children, two of which, Melissa Kathleen and Ferrel Gene, died as infants. Besides her two children and husband, Fred, she was preceded in death by her son, Harold Cain and daughter-in-law, June Cain, her parents, brothers, and two sisters. Nellie is survived by her sister Alfred Lafolette, and her husband, Donald, Princeton, Missouri; children, Danny Cain and wife Sharon, Harrisonville, Missouri, Judith Cain-Weathers and husband Russ, Liberty, Missouri; grandchildren, Brian Cain, Shelly Cain, Regina Cain-Kuffel and husband Larry, Joy Weathers Hetzler and husband Bryon, Kent Weathers and wife Becky, and Vince Weathers; and great-grandchildren, Kamryn Cain, Emily and Erik Hetzler, Michael Kuffel, and Cassie and Seth Weathers. Services were held Wednesday October 18, at the Stoklasa Funeral Home in Cainsville, Missouri. Burial was in the Oaklawn Cemetery, near Cainsville.
