John Richard Allington, 77, of Lincoln, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Martha House, a Tabitha community. He was born October 26, 1938, to William and Norma (Peterson) Allington. John received a Bachelor’s Degree in Geology and Master’s Degree in Geophysics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In 1970, he was united in marriage to Margaret (Diers). John worked for Pan American Oil Company until 1964. He then became Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Isco where he worked for 31 years until he retired in 1995. John was known for his interest in history, collecting antique guns and his antique 1924 Durant Star automobile, that he enjoyed displaying in neighborhood parades. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; sons, Rob (Lori Dawson) and Jim (Nicole Van Brunt) both of Littleton, CO; and grandchildren, Delaney, Max, Riley and Tyler Allington. John was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Mary Allington.
