He was married 1st about 1884 to [Clem Cole?], and he was married 2nd about 1896 to Della Primm Cole (1868–1958), the daughter of Areleus Lancaster Tex Cole (1835–1919) and Emeline Elizabeth (Harris) Cole (1835–1898).
Living at 714 Hume Street, Nashville, he was 75 years old and married when he died at home of cerebral apoplexy on April 15, 1928. Burial was two days later in Spring Hill Cemetery.
