Jonas was married 1st to Nancy McGonagle in Harrison County, OH in 1839. They had children: Joseph W. 1839-1873, Margaret Jane (Howell) 1840- , Melissa (McWilliams) 1844-1922, Isabella (Aldridge) 1848-1891.

Nancy died about 1855 and Jonas married her sister Matilda 1828-1895. Their children were Fremont 1856-1929, Robert 1859-1880, James Andersen 1861-1867, Harry C. 1865-1945,and Frederick 1871- .

Nancy and Matilda were daughters of Joseph McGonigill and Isabelle McFarland.

Small white rounded stone, possibly top of a broken stone. Only name Jonas was legible. Located near parents John and Elizabeth Romick's grave.
