Dorothy Miller, 86, formerly of Anderson, passed away peacefully in her sleep February 27th at the Autumn Hills care center in Bloomington Indiana. Dorothy resided in Anderson from 1952, when she moved from her home in Galesburg, Illinois to take a job with the Social Security Administration, until 2012 when she moved to Bloomington to live with her son Bruce.

Dorothy was a graduate, and lifelong supporter of the University of Illinois and a life member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She had a 37 year career with Social Security, and she was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Anderson until she moved away.

After retiring Dorothy enjoyed world travels, visiting Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Austria, Italy , Alaska and China with the University of Illinois Alumni Association. She also was a diehard Chicago Cubs fan and watched every game that she could.

She is survived by her sons Bruce (Kim) Miller of Bloomington, and Bill (Annette) Miller and two grandsons, Austin and Evan Miller of Minneapolis, two sisters Mary (Glynn ) Johnson of Heath, OH, and Peggy (Mark) Hazelwood of Daytona Beach, FL. and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Perry Miller, who passed away in 1995 and her parents William and Bess Lewis.
