Ella E. Phillips, 94, of Centerville, died of a heart attack on Jan 23 at Carlisle Care Center. Services were held Tuesday at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville. Burial was at Oakland Cemetery there.
Mrs. Phillips was born in Appanoose County and had lived in Centerville before moving to the care center. She had worked for Willier Drug Store and was a member of First United Methodist Church and American Legion. Surviving are a son, Wayne Smith of Phillips, Wis.; two daughters, Donna Brown of Centerville and Karen Andrews of Carlisle; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to TTT Loan Closet.
She also has a stone in the Unionville Cemetery, with her 1st husband called SMITH.
I think she intended to be buried there with him, but perhaps the weather didn't permit the travel.
