JAMES A. RUSSELL

James A. Russell, 75, Rt. 1, Rogersville, died at his residence Thursday night after a long illness.

He was a veteran of World War I, a member of the American Legion, and of the Fairview Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Effie Mae Russell; daughters, Miss Birdie Russell, Rogersville, and Mrs. Viola Rogers, Mooresburg; sons, Sam Russell, Whitesburg, Carl and McRay Russell, both of Rogersville; brothers, Melvin, Rogersville, Charles and Robert, both of Indianapolis, Ind., and Sidney Russell, Knoxville; sisters Mrs. Lennie Leroy, Mrs. Oba Hill, both of Rogersville, Mrs. Georgia Beck, Whitesburg, Mrs. Wayne Stewart, Mrs. John Stewart, both of North Salem, Ind., Mrs. Fred Creasy, Pocomoke City, Md.; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday from Colboch-Price Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dana Bentley and the Rev. Vernon Fielden officiating. Burial was in Choptack Cemetery.
