Charles Bolton was born in Giles Co., Virginia. The son of George Bolton and Nancy-Margaret Duncan. On March 23, 1854 he was married to Louisa Bolton [his cousin], in Cedar Co., Iowa. All of their 6 children were born in Cedar County and after 1871 they moved to Pottawattamie Co., Iowa and resided in Macedonia.
Their children: Lewis Preston, George A., Mary Jane, Cora A., Sherman Martin, and Olive.
Olive Bolton, their daughter, 1868-1871 burial location unknown but in Cedar Co., Iowa.
