Yes, I see that this marker says "E M McWhorter." Today I found a cemetery census online of Mt Olive (Brushy Creek) and there listed is a grave that says FM McWhorter born July 15, 1867, died April 8, 1907. Don't know who this FM McWhorter (he/she???) is!

This person here in Crawford lies beside Bettie Barham who is FM and Emma McWhorter's daughter. These two stones are identical, so probably placed there at the same time. Bettie died 1955. I checked the census records and found FM McWhorter in both the 1910 and 1920 Texas Census records with Bettie his daughter and other children. Says he is a widow. The F M McWhorter in Mt. Olive Cemetery has to be a totally different person from the F M McWhorter here because birth and death dates are not even close. So it cannot mean human error on them both being the same person.

I am hoping someone of Bettie's family will find this memorial and clear up this problem of the wrong initials! I am thinking some family members, generations down, placed markers on these McWhorter's graves in Crawford Cemetery and made a mistake on Frank's initials, or this is really Emma's grave. But that is only a guess. The stone look really resent, not a 1926 one! If anyone is direct line to Frank, I would love to transfer this memorial to you. Maybe you will be able to find out why the stone is wrong and get it corrected, if this is the case!!!!!
