Mary Elizabeth Bailey, 84, of San Angelo, passed away Feb. 22, 2016, in Houston, Texas.

Family visitation is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016, at Johnson's Funeral Home. A celebration of Mary's life is at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, in Johnson's Funeral Home chapel with Chaplain William Rosser of Interim Hospice officiating. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

Mary Elizabeth Bailey was born June 11, 1931, to John and Vera Allbright in Runnels County, Texas. She attended school in Ballinger, Texas, and studied nursing at Shannon Hospital.

Mrs. Bailey worked as an RN in pediatric nursing for many years in San Angelo. She loved taking care of others throughout her life and was loved by all who knew her.

She married Billy Leon Bailey in Ballinger, Texas, on Feb. 21, 1953, at First United Methodist Church. They were married for 56 years.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her brother; and a great-grandson. She is lovingly remembered by her two sons, John Bailey of Houston, Texas, and William Bailey of San Angelo; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the West Texas Lighthouse for the Blind, 2001 Austin St., San Angelo, TX 76903 or lighthousefortheblind.org.
