Mr. Welch passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Clay County Hospital. He was a native of Tallapoosa County and had lived in Clay County for the past 48 years. A graduate of Daviston High School, Mr. Welch had worked for Wellborn Cabinet as a display constructor. He loved his farm animals and enjoyed raising dogs. Mr. Welch was a member of Christiana Baptist Church.
He is survived by a host of nieces and nephews and his extended family.
Mr. Welch was preceded in death by his parents: Johnny Durrell Welch and Lula Bell Willoughby Welch; his wife of 48 years, Ellawease Taylor Welch; one sister, Helen Hamlet and one brother Eugene Welch.
Friends and family members will serve as pallbearers.
