Joseph was a graduate of Scranton High School, Woods Business College, & East Stroudsburg State Teachers College. He taught grammer school for the Scranton School District and later became the Principal At Audubon school in 1911 for 2 years, then at Wittier School for 15 years. He served as director of atheltics for the Bureau of Recreation at Weston Field during most of WWII. He was an active member of Elm Park Untied Methodist Church. He was married to Lillian Dietzel Johler and the father of 2 sons, Joseph R Johler & Charles P Johler. They also have and infant daughter buried right next to them. His Parents were Leopold Johler & Caroline Steinle Johler.
