Leroy Bender, Garden City - 66, died July 7, 2005, at St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City. He was born Feb. 1, 1939, at Russell, the son of John L. and Caroline Morgenstern. A resident of Garden City since 2003, moving from Dodge City, he worked in the oil field and construction industries. He belonged to Bible Christian Church and the church singles group, both at Garden City.
Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Popkey, Buhler; a brother, Clarence Bender, Russell; two sisters, Viola Barratti, and Elsie Boger, both of Wichita; three grandchildren.
Memorial service will be at a later ate. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will be at a later date. Price and sons Funeral Home, Garden City.
