Owen married Caroline H Drane Traughber July 28, 1867 in Robertson, Co., TN. They were the parents of Thomas R and Lucy Ramsey. He died January 8, 1903 in Adairville, Logan County Kentucky and was laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery.
1862-1865 Confederate Civil War Soldier: Owen Valaraous Ramsey enlisted in the CSA as a private 15 Aug 1862 Hartsville, TN, joined the 2nd Regiment, Kentucky Cavalry (Duke's), Co. K, and served there the entire war. His Regiment surrendered abt. 15 Apr 1865 Washington GA. Owen wasn't present for the surrender because he was in prison at Rock Island, Illinois after previously being captured 14 Jun 1864 and held by Federal forces. He was released 18 May 1865.
