Dr. Laurent Joseph Guillou, Jr., 69, of Savannah, Georgia, died Saturday afternoon, December 2, 2006, in Cumming, Georgia, under the care of Hospice Atlanta. Born in New York City on September 24, 1937, he was a son of the late Laurent Joseph Guillou of Pleyben, France and Anastasia Sheppard Guillou of Savannah, Georgia. He moved to Savannah with his parents and attended Cathedral Day School and Benedictine Military School, Class of '55. He received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in Microbiology from Louisiana State University. He was a long time faculty member of Armstrong Atlantic State University in the Biology Department and recently retired after 35 years. He is survived by three sons, Laurent J. Guillou III, of Savannah, Georgia, Leal Patrick Guillou of Tampa, Florida, and Gregg Carlin Guillou and his wife, Ulrike, of Fussen, Germany; a daughter, Ashley Guillou Lewis and her husband, Grant, of Augusta, Georgia; one granddaughter, Peyton Virginia Lewis, of Augusta, Georgia, and his life-partner Nancy Haban of Cumming, Georgia.NAME: Laurent J.
