HARTFORD CITY – Paul Anthony “Tony” Pursley, Sr., 69, passed away at 3:10 p.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at IU Health Blackford Community Hospital E.R.
He was born in Hartford City on January 14, 1947 to Maurice H. Pursley and Mae L. (Rogers) Pursley. His father precedes him in death.
Tony married Janet L. (Turner) on June 5, 1982 in Hartford City.
He had worked for 20 years for Franklin Electric in Bluffton and was self-employed shoe repairman. He loved fishing and riding his motorcycle.
Tony will be sadly missed by his wife, Janet L. Pursley of Hartford City; mother, Mae L. Pursley of Hartford City; son, Paul Anthony Pursley Jr. of Muncie; daughter, Misty Dawn Pursley of Hartford City; Sunday (husband, Kevin) Christman of Huntington; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon Sue Pursley of Hartford City; brothers, Jacob Joseph Pursley of Hartford City; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David and Linda Foister, Brenda (husband, Walt) Casterline, Phyllis Dishman, Cathy Ford, Sandy (husband, Donnie) Pendleton and Marilyn (husband, Marvin) Dalton.
He is also preceded in death by his son, Michael E. Wheatley and sister-in-law, Geraldine Sargent.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2016 at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St. Hartford City with Father Dave Newton officiating. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery, Montpelier, IN.
Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2016 at Keplinger Funeral Home.
