Mrs. Gladys McLean

Mrs. Gladys Pelton McLean, of 6740 SW Canyon Lane, a former school teacher and resident of Portland for 46 years, died Saturday in a Portland hospital. She was 80. A native of Wadena, Minn., Mrs. McLean was educated at Lewiston Normal and the University of Idaho and taught in the Idaho school system until her marriage in 1915. She moved to Portland in 1922. Mrs. McLean was a member of the Parent Teacher Association, the Red Cross, the Motion Picture Censor Board, the YWCA, the National Officers Club, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Oregon Artist Society and the First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Richard Wintermute, Portland; one brother, Harry Pelton, Clarkston, Wash., and two grandchildren. Service will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in Portland Memorial. The family requests that remembrances be contributions to the Oregon Heart Association.
