Wayne Wilcox was born September 1, 1926 in Doxey, Oklahoma to Ruby Viola and William Jonathon Wilcox .
He passed away February 23, 2016 at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years, 5 months and 22 days.
As a child, Wayne briefly lived in the Carter community before moving to Warren where met his future wife, Juanita. They were married in Altus, OK on April 15, 1950 and lived in Berlin before finally moving to Erick in 1956 to make their home.
Wayne was a farmer, trucker and to many, a worthy domino competitor.
He did serve briefly in the US Army.
Prior to his stroke, Wayne spent his days working in the field and tending to his cattle yet he would always find time to come home to have lunch with his wife.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother.
After his stroke Wayne spent his time reading his Bible, watching baseball and Wheel of Fortune as well as countless games of dominoes with his friends and family.
Wayne was a member of the First Baptist Church of Erick for 58 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
He is survived by his 2 sons, 2 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives, and friends.
Services will be held Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Erick First Baptist Church.
Burial will be at the Erick Cemetery under the direction of Fatheree-Albert Funeral Home
