Dean was married on November 27, 1948 in Belding to Linton Harwood and he preceded her in 2012. She was also preceded by her parents, three sisters; Evelyn, Ida-Belle and Beverly, three brothers; Dusty, George and Edward.
For many years Dean and her husband Lint were active with the Belding Fire Department. Dean was a past member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Belding Fire Department and in 1979 received her Firefighter I certificate. She was a past member of the United Methodist Church of Belding and the Historical Society. She had a life long love of history and enjoyed local history. Dean was a talented artist and loved to sketch with inks. Many area residents will remember Dean and her dog grooming business. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Dean is loved and survived by her children; Gayla and Gary Gasper, L. Jess Harwood all of Belding, Tammy Hodges of Greenville, grandchildren; Trevor Dean Smith, Wendy Sparks, Tara Dean Richardson, Clayton J. Harwood, Jody Smith, Nicole Schmiedicke, Samatha Hodges, great grandchildren; Tim, Madison, Kaitlyn, Harley, Mitchell, Devin, Justin, Brayden, Sydney, great great grandchild; Kellan.
Graveside funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday February 5, 2016 at River Ridge Cemetery, Belding with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. No visitation will take place. Memorials may be given to the Belding Museum. Envelopes will be available at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding where funeral care has been entrusted.
