Age 70, of Zimmerman, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016. He was born October 29, 1945 Minneapolis, MN the son of Vernon and Annabelle (Ziebarth) Akers.
Gary grew up in Central City, Iowa where he attended a one room school and then Central City High School. His family then moved back to Princeton in 1965. Gary worked various labor jobs within the construction industry before beginning work at Hoffman Engineering where he worked for over 30 years. After many years of dating, Gary was united in marriage on June 5, 2002 at the Anoka County Courthouse. Gary loved his Harley Davidson motorcycles and attending dirt track races at Cedar Lake and in Princeton.
